Trouts of lake of mountain in Andorre (Laurent LAFFLY)
Andorre is a mountainous bastion between Spain in the south and France in north constitutes. Andorra counts approximately 65 000 inhabitants divided on a territory of 464 kms2. The capital is "Andorra Vella". The relief is very marked and the principal places of fishing are either lakes of mountain easy of access, or rivers. Four rivers sprinkle the country: Northern Valira LED, Valira d' Orient, Madriu and after their junction have Escaldes-Engordany, Gran Valira.
Founded, according to the legend by Charlemagne, into 784, feudal
possession of the Bishops of Urgell and the Counts de Foix, nowadays it belongs
to the Bishop of Urgell and to the president of the French Republic.
Andorra
is controlled by the General Council Chaired by two Syndics. It is made of 28
General Conseillers elected officials by the vote for all for four years, which
represent the septs parishes: Canillo, Encamp, Ordino, Massana, Andorra Vella,
San Julià of loria and Escaldes-Engordany.

The official language is the Catalan. Its main resources are tourism, the trade, the tobacco, the cattle breeding.
The currency is Euro
(in the past the Peseta - the French franc being accepted).
Andorra has thermal springs with Escaldes-Engordany (temperature of 10°C with 85°C) sulfurous and sulphuretted which are perfectly appropriate for the treatment of rheumatisms and the skin diseases.
The Tourist bureau publishes a very complete guide of fishing freely distributed on which you can find the whole of the regulations of Andorra for fishing as well as a complete chart showing the fishing zones, spaces in reserve and the sectors called Acotats.

The licences are sold at the season, the week and at the day for the acotats (surdensitaires courses). the later five make it possible to practise fishing in sectors rich in fish. There are also a acotat in "No kill" (without dead) and a acotat school of fishing.
The tariffs are very accessible and of
many points of sales allow to get the fishing permit as well as a complete chart
of the sites. I fished the lakes of mountain of Western North: "Estanys de
Tristaina" and the access does not present a large difficulty since we arrive on
the edges of the lakes after about thirty minutes of walk on a ground path and
stone.

Early in the morning, I advise you the closest lakes for then going up towards the higher lakes bus of many walkers frequent these banks and the fish become more careful as the day advances. However, it is rather easy to make a very beautiful fishing in spite of the rather reduced size of trouts (but we are in sectors of mountain).
If you wish to see the Lake
Estanys de Tristaina with a panoramic sight ,
The recommended equipment is a rod of 9 feet, floating silk WF 6. But in high wind conditions a more powerful cane: a silk from 7 to 8 will enable you to reach the middle of the lakes. The throw in double heading can sometimes prove very useful especially in day when the fish deserted the banks that the walkers rather often attends. The flies are varied, I made very beautiful fishings with a sedge without hackle , a brown midge , a winged ant in small size, a suspender which enabled me to capture trouts all day long and I saw very beautiful sedges with yellow-olive wings and body, on which the trouts rushed unfortunately, but I did not have any one on me.
